Our van is russian made Uaz 452. It is still in production. It's 4x4 capacities, robustness and simp[le mechanics explains why it is widely available throughout Mongolia and the Central Asian plains. It is in Ulaanbaatar, where some crucial mechanic work has been undergone. We will spend a week in Ulaanbaatar, preparing it for the needs of the expedition. |

United Nationsmaps US Geographical Survey maps Reise Know-How Central Asia 1:1 700 000 Roadmap of Mongolia 1:25 000 (1999 T4000) Sat. maps LandSat 7 web: https://zulu.ssc.nasa.gov/ We will be using a GPS Magellan SporTrack Color, coupled with a laptop where the software MapSend Worlwide Basemap is installed. The GPS will update the waypoint on the map, on the computer, "live". No need to get lost... we hope!
